This will be the final reminder to register for the Regular Membership Meeting of the Louisiana National Guard Enlisted Association.  Because LANGEA will be hosting the EANGUS Conference in New Orleans August 21-24, we will have a scaled back LANGEA Conference this year and encourage Louisiana Guard Members to support the EANGUS National Conference.  As a result, the LANGEA Conference will be essentially a Business Meeting at no cost to our Members.

Current LANGEA Bylaws
Proposed Bylaws Amendment 1:  Adjustments to the LANGEA Scholarship
Proposed Bylaws Amendment 2:  Adjustments to the Executive Council

The above two Amendments will be voted upon at this meeting.  The Scholarship Amendment is removing the requirement for letters of reference in the application.  The Executive Council Amendment is a recommendation to have the Unit Reps be appointed positions through a process of Nomination Committee recommendations to the Chairman and confirmation by a vote of the Executive Board.  This would replace the process where membership in the units voting in their Unit Reps on the Executive Council.  The units would still have a unit rep, just through a nominations process rather than a voting process.  This would also make the Board meetings quorum requirement based on only the presence of the Executive Board members rather than Executive Board members and the Executive Council members combined.  This amendment may require a lot of discussion prior to the vote, since it would be a change from the way the bylaws have traditionally operated.
