LANGEA sent a delegation of 3 Soldiers and 3 Airmen to Washington D.C. from 01 – 04 February, 2014. We visited with Congressman Scalise and Congressman Cassidy’s offices and discussed the following issues:
- Establishing a National Commission on the Structure of the Army
- Hiring Preference Points for members of the National Guard
- Veterans Status for Title 32 Service
- The Hunter/Walz Letter – to prevent the National Guard from losing aviation assets, which directly affects Louisiana.
These issues are important to the Louisiana National Guard, and while we were able to meet face-to-face with the key people on this matter, it is important that everyone click on the above links and send an email to your elected officials as well. It takes all of 5 minutes at the most to answer all of these “Calls to Action”, but it can make a huge difference in whether these laws are passed at all. Don’t let this opportunity pass by without weighing in on the issue.
